QUICK QUOTES!

“Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself.”

“Affirming words from moms and dads are like light switches.
Speak a word of affirmation at the right moment in a child’s life
and it’s like lighting up a whole roomful of possibilities.”

“It’s not only children who grow. Parents do too.
As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives,
they are watching us to see what we do with ours.
I can’t tell my children to reach for the sun.
All I can do is reach for it, myself.”

If I had my child to raise over again
I’d build self-esteem first and the house later
I’d finger paint more and point the finger less
I would do less correcting and more connecting
I’d take my eyes off my watch and watch with my eyes
I would care to know less and know to care more
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites
I’d stop playing serious and seriously play
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars
I’d do more hugging and less tugging
I’d see the oak tree in the acorn more often
I would be firm less often and affirm much more
I’d model less about the love of power
And more about the power of love

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. God never said life would be easy, He just promised it would be worth it.

Some questions about this website and group:
    - Are you affiliated with a specific school district?
    - Who founded the group/website?
    - Are you looking for national or local participation?
    - Do you hold events? Workshops?

    Thanks,
    Joann

    • Thanks for the questions, Joann! Let me do my best to answer your questions.

Although ParentUniversity.org is not affiliated with a specific school district, I do serve on our local board of education. I also serve as National Board of Education Advisor for Bully Police USA.

I founded this group/website. My name is Kelly Kamish Bakke. If you go to Media Room in the tabs, you can read a bit about me and why I started this group/website.

I am looking for both national and local participation. At this time, I travel and do speaking engagements for conventions, seminars, workshops, school events, parent groups, etc. I am working to develop a workshop and convention. I will be posting more details in the near future.

Again, thank you for your questions. If you have additional questions or would like more information, feel free to email me at Kelly.Bakke@gmail.com.

      Respectfully,
      Kelly
